My duties and responsibilities encompass recommending to the  Board of Directors and CBCIA’s general membership adequate precautions , safety measures and appropriate signage pertaining to the use and travel along Columbia Beach shoreline and on its community-owned piers; inspecting, investigating and making recommendations for the proper maintenance of the shoreline and adjacent community property; and attending to the execution of all approved recommendations ordered by the Board of Directors and/or the general membership.

Additional duties, I perform as a board member, consist of ensuring that provisions are made for the protection of the community, and to provide ways and means for the observance and enforcement of all restrictions, rules and regulations governing the Association and the community of Columbia Beach, which is both a Special Community Benefit District (SCBD) and Shore Erosion Control District (SECD).

Work has commenced on CBCIA's comprehensive shoreline erosion project. The map below shows the affected areas of Columbia Beach.  The project is scheduled to run from June 2010 through February 2011.  The first section (in blue) has been completed and work has commenced on the second section (yellow) starting at the southern end of Chichester (Randall) Dr.  You can click on each highlighted section of the below map for further details.
